Hospital Room Control Unit (RCU)

The intelligent brain behind every smart inpatient room

The Smart G4 Hospital RCU is a dedicated room controller that manages every electrical and environmental system in an inpatient room — from lighting and HVAC to nurse call, access, and energy metering — all from a single open-protocol device.

What Is a Hospital RCU?

A Room Control Unit (RCU) is the central intelligence installed in each patient room. It connects to all room devices — panels, sensors, actuators, and the hospital network — and executes control logic locally, even if the server goes offline. Smart G4 Hospital RCUs use the sBUS open protocol, ensuring compatibility with any third-party system.
